
Position summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Freight Forwarding Agent to support our import operations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in shipment tracking and customs coordination, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining strong communication with customers and partners.
Key responsibilities and tasks Obtain all the information necessary for best course of action- Importer, Bill to party, Terms, cargo details such as pieces, weight, dimensions, commodity, invoices, and packing list to create file. (O/I) File ISF in a timely manner upon receipt of information / Send ISF confirmation to origin. Review pre alert documents to ensure all is in order; confirm receipt to origin and address any concerns ASAP Track and trace shipments; maintain customer updated Process customs formality accordingly, Inbond (I.T, I.E, T&E) Consumption Entry, warehouse entry Warehouse Entry: open warehouse entry folder and tally once approved. Make clearance arrangements based on customers instructions, when necessary, advise in writing estimated duty and billing charges related with clearance or work being performed. Coordinate all inbound containers with warehouse team to ensure receiving capabilities. Provide warehouse team with documents for properly receiving and entering containers in our WMS. Communicate with warehouse team regarding, shortages or delays of inbound cargo. Update customer accordingly. Offer rates for service being provided and obtain approval. Reserve expected cost in IES. Bill files within 5 days from Delivery date or sooner and close file. Send invoices to customers / agents with appropriate back up once invoice is issued Qualifications and competencies
Knowledgeable in air and ocean import general processes General understanding of bonded procedures, 7512, ISF, warehouse entry, consumption entry Works well in group / team setting; works proactively Can work under pressure and understand how to work in order of priority, detail oriented, good customer service skills Foreign Trade Zone knowledge a plus2
