
Ocean Import & Customer Service

Aprile SpA is looking for an Ocean Import Customer Service professional to join our New Jersey office serving the New York metropolitan area.
This role focuses on managing ocean import shipments, coordinating with overseas agents and customs brokers, and supporting clients throughout the import process.
Responsibilities
Shipment Coordination
Coordinate with overseas agents for import documentation. Communicate with carriers and customs brokers to ensure smooth customs clearance. Monitor shipment status and track cargo movement throughout transit, providing updates to clients. Analyze shipping costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization. Documentation Management: Review all necessary import documents including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs declarations. Ensure accurate and timely submission of customs entries to comply with import regulations. File ISF and/or AMS. Maintain comprehensive shipment files with all relevant documentation. All other duties as assigned. Customer Service
Act as primary point of contact for clients and overseas agents regarding import shipments, addressing inquiries and resolving issues. Provide accurate and timely updates on shipment status to clients and overseas agents. Build strong relationships with clients and overseas agents to understand their import needs. All other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong understanding of international trade regulations, Incoterms and customs procedures. Experience with import logistics and freight forwarding operations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, carriers, and overseas agents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple shipments simultaneously. Knowledge of also export shipments is preferred but not required.
