The State of South Carolina is looking for a Database Administrator - Consultant Why is this position open: New Position. The SCDMV is in the process of migrating 300+ SQL Server Databases from SQL Server 2019 to SQL Server 2022 in addition to a need for Production Support in the current SQL DBA Team. Will close to submissions on March 3rd, 2026 5:00PM EST. Interview Process: One Round - Virtual (Camera On Teams Meeting) or In Person. In Person highly preferred. Duration of the Contract: 12 Months Possibility for Extension: Yes Work Location: Position is Hybrid, however remote capability is very limited and the candidate should expect to be onsite five days a week. Remote days are based off of project needs and DMV discretion. Candidate location: Resources must be local to South Carolina. The hiring manager is open to resources local to North Carolina if they will commute to Columbia, SC 5 days/week. Work Schedule: Weekend Hours and On Call Rotation is to be expected for project needs per the discretion of the DMV.

IN ADDITION, THIS POSITION WILL SUPPLEMENT OUR CURRENT SQL DBA FORCE WITH PRODUCTION SUPPORT ACTIVITIES SUCH AS OS UPDATES, SECURITY UPDATES, ETC. AND WILL REQUIRE BEYOND NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS ACTIVITIES. THIS POSITION WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUPPORT THE ORACLE DBA TEAM AS NEEDED, CREATE REPORTS IN SSRS AND POWER BI, AND UTILIZE ERWIN IN MANAGING LOGICAL AND PHYSICAL DATA MODELS, DATA DICTIONARIES AND MODEL DOCUMENTATION.
THIS IS EXPECTED TO BE A LONG TERM, ONGOING ASSIGNMENT. ON-SITE PRESENCE IS REQUIRED THEREFORE REGIONAL CANDIDATES (SC, GA, NC) WILL BE GIVEN PREFERRED PRIORITY. CANDIDATE WILL BE WORKING IN A TEAM ENVIRONMENT CONSISTING OF 6 DATABASE ENGINEERS AND ADMINISTRATORS AND WORKING DIRECTLY WITH APPLICATION ARCHITECT AND DEVELOPERS, BUSINESS ANALYSTS AND SERVER SUPPORT TEAM.
