Summary: We are seeking an experienced internal communications professional with deep Slack experience to support the execution and evolution of Strategic Events' internal communications process and operations. This contract role focuses on content execution, channel optimization, workflow development, and performance measurement to help ensure internal communications operate with clarity, consistency, and scale. This is an individual contributor role that works closely with cross-functional partners to implement frameworks, improve processes, and support ongoing innovation in how internal communications are created, distributed, and measured.
Responsibilities:
Design and maintain scalable workflows across Slack, Google Workspace, and company-owned tools. Support channel strategy, standards, and usage guidance to improve signal quality and employee experience. Build and maintain operational frameworks, including editorial calendars, intake workflows, production trackers, messaging templates, and process documentation. Improve cross-team handoffs by clarifying roles, timelines, and execution expectations. Identify and prototype AI-enabled and agent-based workflows within approved enterprise platforms. Support the integration of automation into existing communications processes to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency. Contribute to the development of a practical roadmap for communications tooling and workflow enhancements. Translate operational needs into executable solutions within existing systems. Draft, edit, and refine internal communications across Slack, internal email, executive updates, and program communications. Apply strong copywriting and editorial judgment to ensure messaging is clear, engaging, and aligned to established voice and style. Contribute to decisions about content formats and distribution approaches, including exploration of media, video, Slack apps, and emerging internal channels. Partner with stakeholders to ensure content supports strategic goals and resonates with internal audiences. Build structure around existing data sources to enable consistent reporting and performance visibility. Maintain dashboards and reporting views focused on engagement, reach, and operational effectiveness. Analyze trends and performance data to support insights and recommendations for optimization. Support ongoing improvements to measurement approaches without overengineering. Support positioning of editorial content to meet individual team goals while maintaining alignment with broader communications strategies. Partner effectively within a matrixed organization to support timely and coordinated execution.
Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience in internal communications, communications operations, marketing operations, or a related field. Hands-on experience with Slack is required, including content publishing, channel coordination, app integration, and workflow execution. Strong writing, editing, and copywriting skills. Demonstrated experience supporting complex, cross-functional projects. Experience building operational frameworks, templates, and documented processes. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Google Sheets. Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-ambiguity environments with minimal oversight.

Pay Transparency:
The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is:
$45.00 - $47.00 /hour . Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages. Packages may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, health savings accounts with qualified medical plan enrollment, 10 paid days off, 3 days paid bereavement leave, 401(k) plan participation with employer match, life and disability insurance, commuter benefits, dependent care flexible spending account, accident insurance, critical illness insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, accommodations and reimbursement for work travel, and discretionary performance or recognition bonus.
