Job Summary The Enterprise Systems Developer II works within the Learning Management Solutions development team on complex tasks in support of our business users. This role requires a developer who can work independently to ensure that assignments are completed on time. The developer will be responsible for supporting the full range of modules within the Learning Management Systems and PeopleSoft products and will be expected to provide production support, technical and process documentation, and follow established development and change control standards. The developer is further expected to be comfortable working with business owners to understand functional requirements and business processes to ensure compatibility with proposed technical solutions.
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business or related field
Three (3) years of design and development experience with Learning Management Systems, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, or other ERP systems
Three (3) years of experience in systems analysis, design, development, implementation, and support
Three (3) years of experience working in the Higher Education space
Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience will be considered
3+ years development experience with Learning Management Systems, PeopleSoft Tools, Data management Tools and SQL tools or Similar Programming language or skill.
Experience with Component Interface, Application Server, Process Scheduler and experience using XML Publisher
Responsible for data/code analysis, review of Technical Designs from other developers
Experience writing technical documentation and procedures
Willing to work off hours as required
Other Qualifications To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Diagnoses and resolves complex Learning Management system-related problems to ensure the accuracy of business critical systems.
Researches questions with respect to both maintenance and development activities
Analyzes, designs and creates technical specifications for the Learning Management applications and functions.
Ensures that all relevant technical documentation is updated accordingly, including technical specs and changes to the Learning Management objects such as REST API , LTI , LIS 2.0, CSV , and student information system objects such as PeopleSoft SQR and Application Engine.
Provides technical expertise while addressing problems related to systems integration, compatibility and multiple platform integration. This includes guidance related to general and portal-specific software design, development processes, security, infrastructure, migration paths, and deployment best practices.
Develops and customizes reports, interfaces and new processes using REST API , LTI , PeopleTools and other 3rd party tools such as SQL and XML to deliver required functionality.
Provides expertise and advisement to junior Developers and Technical Analysts when necessary to resolve issues.
Expertly forecasts required time and resources and follows established methodology.
Completes the duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision of senior personnel and/or management.
Performs other related duties as required or as directed by the manager.
