Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)
Manage and support core benefit programs including Leaves of Absence, Employee Accommodations, Workers’ Compensation, and Tuition Reimbursement.
Partner with the Corporate Benefits team to administer programs such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and compliance reporting.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including FLSA, ERISA, ACA, and other applicable laws.
Oversee accurate leave tracking and payroll reporting, collaborating closely with HR Operations to ensure proper deductions and documentation.
Analyze Hearst Magazines–specific benefits offerings to assess competitiveness, equity, and overall value.
Serve as a trusted resource to employees and managers, providing guidance on benefits policies and processes with clarity and professionalism.
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
3–5 years of experience in benefits management and administration.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws related to employee benefits.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Excel; experience with Oracle and data analysis tools is a plus.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Clear and thoughtful communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
Strategic mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Hybrid schedule: 4 days per week in the New York City office.

The base salary for this role is between $90,000 - $110,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
