Pet Bather at PetSmart Overview

PetSmart’s Professional Bather (dog bather) is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences, salon services, and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role shares responsibility for store cleanliness, recommending solutions for pet parents, and pet safety standards. Benefits

Complete PetSmart’s Splash training and safety certification program. Manage the pet parent experience in person, over the phone, and at the sales register. Greet pet parents, answer questions, and assist with salon reservations. Handle check-in and check-out procedures. Independently perform full menu of bath and brush services and standalone services (nail trims, teeth brushing, sanitary services) according to PetSmart’s standards. Suggest health and wellness solutions to pet parents based on pet needs. Maintain a safe environment for associates, pets, and pet parents. Take action when a sick or injured pet is identified; arrange transport to the veterinarian as needed. Recommend, inform, and sell merchandise and services. Maintain total store cleanliness standards. Assist and work in other departments as required. Other duties may be assigned. Participate in the culture of Belonging and Recognition. Follow all Company Policies and Procedures. Qualifications

Proficiency in computer applications. Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure. Flexibility in schedule; able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and safety measures. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Physical Demands and Work Environment

Stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc. Ability to reach with hands and arms; may include stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing. Depth perception required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, a wet environment with pet hair, and high noise levels. Exposure to live animals is common. Legal and Additional Information
