
Overview
Facility University Medical Center of El Paso Responsible for total patient account management to include billing, collections and reconciliation of patient accounts with Crime Victim compensation. Responsible for total-account-management to ensure charity allowances and/or other coverage is applied, as appropriate. These accounts are the representative’s responsibility from discharge until the account is reconciled as per payer contract terms and conditions and/or regulations. Responsibilities
Account management that includes billing, collections, and reconciliation of the patient account Review claims and is familiar with CPT, HCPCS, and what an EOB/ERA is Claim correction and appeals for denied claims Works with insured and insurance companies to find a resolution on outstanding accounts Required Skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Analytical and problem-solving skills required. Familiar with computerized patient accounting systems preferred. Experience in medical management computer software preferred. Must have the ability to accurately enter data, describing appropriate follow-up activity. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third party billing requirements preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Basic computer literacy (Excel preferred) and keyboarding skills. A. Work Experience: One year related work experience in a hospital, physician or medical insurance office required. One year experience in medical/hospital billing and collections preferred.
