We are actively seeking talented individuals to join our team in this exciting new phase of growth. This position is based in one of our office locations, and candidates should reside within reasonable commuting distance, as this role requires on-site presence at least three days per week.As a Senior UX Designer at Litera, you will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about driving innovation in the legal technology space. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools and collaborate with industry experts to deliver solutions that make a real difference in the legal profession.**Key Responsibilities:** ## Research & Problem Framing:## Design Execution & Collaboration:## Qualifications:**Experience:*** 5+ years as a Product Designer, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment where you've shipped and iterated on a live product* Experience owning the design direction for a product area and managing multiple stakeholders with competing priorities* You've stepped into environments where design wasn't yet leading and helped shape how design contributes — whether that's introducing process, improving collaboration, or simply raising the bar on what ships* Experience designing across web applications, mobile, and/or platform add-ins (we design for the Microsoft suite)* Working knowledge of AI design principles and a genuine interest in how AI and agentic products are evolving — you don't need to be an expert, but you should be paying attention* LegalTech experience is a bonus**Skills:*** Proficient in Figma — it's our primary design tool* Comfortable working in Replit or similar collaborative prototyping environments* Strong foundation in UX research principles — knowing what to ask, when research is needed, and what to do with the findings* Able to present design rationale clearly and manage feedback discussions with cross-functional partners* Can work across multiple levels of design fidelity and know which one a project needs at any given stage**Mindset:*** Self-directed — you go find the answers, you don't wait to be told what to explore* Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where roles overlap, tools evolve, and the process isn't fixed* Resourceful — you use what's available, build on what exists, and focus on outcomes over process**Impact & Growth:*** This role has real scope to shape how design works within your product area and beyond — how we collaborate, how we make decisions, and how we raise the quality of what we ship* You'll be part of a team that's actively evolving its ways of working, with the opportunity to influence that trajectory* Proactively seek out the context you need to design well — talk to legal experts, customer-facing teams, support, and anyone else who holds knowledge about the problem space rather than waiting to be briefed* Know when a question needs formal research and when a quick conversation or existing data will get you the answer — we value resourcefulness and good judgment over rigid process* Collaborate with our UX Researcher for larger studies, and be capable of running lightweight research activities yourself (surveys, interviews, usability tests) with their guidance* Actively monitor product analytics in Pendo to identify patterns, validate assumptions, and use real usage data to drive your design decisions — we have a point person to help you get what you need, but you should be in there regularly* Leverage the wealth of existing knowledge across the organization before starting from scratch — we have deep institutional expertise and we expect you to build on it* Frame problems clearly before jumping to solutions — identify what you know, what you don't, and what you need to find out* Own the design direction for your product area end to end — from early problem definition through to release — and be accountable for the quality of what ships* Work with PM to define scope, shape the problem, and prioritize what gets built — you're not waiting for a brief, you're helping write it. Challenge assumptions, push back with design thinking, and bring clarity when requirements are ambiguous* Navigate complex stakeholder environments — you'll work closely with your PM, Legal SME, and Engineering lead, and you need to be comfortable leading the room, aligning perspectives, and driving decisions forward* Adapt your design output to what the project actually needs — sometimes that's a full end-to-end design, sometimes it's key screens and flows, sometimes it's jumping into Replit and collaborating on a prototype with the team* Present your work with clear rationale grounded in research, UX principles, and real user scenarios — not just "here's what I made" but "here's why, based on what we know." Invite feedback, manage the discussion, and know how to harvest what matters into your next iteration* Design across Microsoft add-ins, web applications, and mobile — with a focus on supporting and enhancing legal workflows* Ramp up quickly on the legal domain — you don't need a legal background, but you need to be curious and fast at absorbing complex workflows and terminology. Prior experience in legal tech, AI, or agentic product design is a plus.* Stay flexible as the way we build evolves — PMs and legal experts are creating prototypes too, lines between roles are blurring, and we need someone who's energized by that rather than threatened by it* Focus on shipping good product over perfecting artifacts — know when a polished design is needed and when a sketch on a call gets the job done faster* Develop and present concept directions that give the team something tangible to react to and align around — even when requirements are still emerging* Know what level of design fidelity a project needs at each stage — when to stay loose and explore multiple directions, when to run a feasibility check with engineering, and when it's time to lock things down and get precise**Comprehensive Benefits Package:** Experience peace of mind with our health insurance, retirement savings plans, generous paid time off, and a supportive work-life balance. We invest in your well-being and future, ensuring a rewarding career journey. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation is determined by factors including education, work experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
