Position Overview
Cooper Carry is seeking a full‑time, in‑house Staff Photographer to serve as a centralized creative resource supporting our architecture, interior design, and planning practices across all studios and service lines. This role is responsible for producing high‑quality, brand‑aligned photography of the firm’s built work and design process for use in marketing, business development, awards, public relations, and various digital platforms.
The Staff Photographer will focus primarily on architectural and interior design project photography, documenting completed work, key project milestones, and select design process moments. Working closely with the Marketing team and project leaders, this role ensures consistent visual quality, efficient project coverage, and thoughtful storytelling that reflects the firm’s design excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Photograph completed architectural and interior design projects, including exterior, interior, and detail imagery
Capture project photography that aligns with publication, award submission, and marketing standards
Document projects at key milestones, including select construction progress and installation phases
Create consistent, repeatable visual coverage across a wide range of project types and locations
Develop shot lists in collaboration with Marketing and project teams to meet specific storytelling goals
Marketing, Business Development & Brand Support
Produce photography for:
Website and digital platforms
Proposals and business development pursuits
Award submissions and editorial opportunities
Press kits and public relations outreach
Event photography for firm-wide events, retreats, celebrations, speaking engagements, and client‑facing engagements
Conduct headshot and portrait sessions for new hires, leadership, and marketing updates
Maintain a strong understanding of how photography supports firm branding and positioning
Ensure visual consistency across studios, markets, and project types
Production Planning, Management & Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for firmwide photography scheduling
Coordinate shoot logistics with clients, building owners, project teams, property managers, consultants, and contractors
Secure required permissions, releases, COIs, and documentation for photography and usage
Arrange staging, lighting, and model needs, site readiness in coordination with Marketing and project teams
Provide on‑site art direction to ensure photography meets brand and quality standards
Coordinate travel logistics and prioritize photography requests based on firm needs
Coordinate and manage external photographers or specialty vendors when needed
Image Editing, Asset Management & Licensing
Edit, process, and deliver final images in alignment with firm standards
Organize and manage photography assets within OpenAsset and related systems
Respond to internal and external image requests and usage needs across the firm
Track image usage rights and support licensing opportunities with clients, consultants, and partners
Maintain a well‑organized, searchable visual archive of firm projects
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Visual Arts, Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
5+ years of professional photography experience, with a portfolio demonstrating:
Architectural and interior design photography
Environmental and spatial storytelling
Strong composition, lighting, and post‑production skills
Experience working with architecture, interior design, or real estate firms strongly preferred
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Lightroom and Photoshop
Strong understanding of photography workflows, color correction, and image optimization
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with clients, principals, multidisciplinary teams, and external partners
Familiarity with photography licensing, copyright, and usage rights
Willingness to travel to project sites as needed (up to 30% required)
Video capture, basic editing, and multimedia storytelling a plus
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Ability to stand, walk, and navigate project sites for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry camera and lighting equipment up to approximately 40 lbs.

Strong visual acuity for detailed composition and post‑production work
