Role Summary This organization is expanding its mechanical estimating team to support significant growth across large commercial projects. The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for producing accurate, timely, and competitive estimates for complex mechanical systems on major projects ranging from $10 million to $100 million. Key Responsibilities (Required)
Prepare complete mechanical estimates for large commercial projects, including both design‑build and plan‑and‑spec formats.
Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to determine scope and materials.
Estimate mechanical disciplines including piping, sheet metal, insulation, and controls.
Work collaboratively with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors to support accurate cost development.
Assist with bid strategies, proposal preparation, and preconstruction coordination.
Maintain accurate documentation and participate in project turnover and planning meetings.
Required Qualifications
8–10 years of mechanical estimating experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical contracting.
Strong mechanical systems background and understanding of equipment and system operations.
Hands‑on estimating experience in piping, sheet metal, insulation, and controls.
Experience with mechanical estimating software. Any platform is acceptable.
Ability to support large‑scale projects ranging from $10 million to $100 million.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Mechanical engineering education or equivalent technical training related to HVAC or mechanical systems.
Experience estimating projects such as data centers, office buildings, high‑rises, hotels, apartments, schools, or industrial facilities.
Familiarity with design‑build mechanical project environments.
Team & Department
Department currently includes 3 estimators, with a planned expansion to 6.
This position reports directly to a senior leader overseeing statewide operations.
The Broward office serves as the primary hub for the team.
