Role Overview The
Direct of or Advancement, Development
provides strategic and operational leadership for all fundraising and institutional advancement efforts by working collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, vendors, and community stakeholders to grow philanthropic revenue, strengthen community presence, and support patient acquisition and retention in alignment with the agency’s mission and long-term strategic goals. This role is accountable for delivering measurable results aligned with departmental and organizational goals and ensuring alignment with our company vision and core values.
Areas of Accountability Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Leadership
Develop and execute annual and multi-year fundraising strategies that integrate individual giving, major gifts, campaigns, events, sponsorships, and institutional support
Lead solicitation strategy, including timing, audience segmentation, and donor journey design, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and capacity
Coordinate fundraising efforts across departments to ensure consistent execution and messaging
Donor Acquisition, Cultivation & Re-Engagement
Design and oversee strategies to identify, qualify, and cultivate new donors across multiple channels, including events, digital outreach, partnerships, and community engagement
Establish and manage lapsed donor re-engagement strategies using targeted outreach, stewardship touchpoints, and personalized follow-up
Personally cultivate, solicit, and steward major, leadership, and institutional donors
Institutional Advancement, Events & Partnerships
Lead development and execution of fundraising events, cultivation events, and community engagement activities that support donor growth and visibility
Develop sponsorship strategies, partnership proposals, and institutional solicitation materials
Represent the organization externally at community events, meetings, and partnership engagements while ensuring consistent brand and narrative alignment
Community Engagement & Relationship Development
Build and maintain strategic relationships with community partners, advocacy groups, and local stakeholders that support mission advancement and resource development
Collaborate with internal teams to align community engagement activities with fundraising, outreach, and service priorities
Leverage community partnerships to expand awareness, trust, and engagement with the organization
Patient Acquisition & Retention Support
Collaborate with internal teams to align Advancement initiatives with patient acquisition and retention strategies
Support outreach efforts that increase awareness of services through events, partnerships, sponsorships, and community-based engagement
Ensure fundraising and community-facing messaging reinforces access to care, patient-centered services, and health equity goals
Pipeline, Data & Performance Management
Oversee donor pipeline development and management, ensuring a healthy 12–24-month outlook
Review CRM data, fundraising performance metrics, and engagement analytics to assess progress and identify risks or opportunities
Use data insights to refine fundraising strategies, prioritize prospects, and improve donor retention and conversion
Education, Licensure/Certification
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (Nonprofit Management, Business, Public Administration, Communications, or related field)
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or institutional advancement
Demonstrated experience leading diversified fundraising strategies, including individual giving, major gifts, events, corporate/foundation partnerships, federal/state/local grants, and campaigns
Proven success building and managing donor pipelines, revenue forecasting, and performance tracking
Experience working with CRM systems, donor data, and fundraising analytics
Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders, external partners, vendors, and community organizations
Experience in healthcare, human services, or mission-driven nonprofit organizations strongly preferred
Experience, Skills/Abilities Related Requirements
Strategic fundraising leadership with the ability to translate long-term goals into executable plans
Ability to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors across giving levels
Data-informed decision-making skills, including pipeline analysis and revenue forecasting
Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and prioritize effectively
