The Chautauqua Golf Club includes two 18‑hole golf courses, a teaching and practice facility, a clubhouse, a pro shop, clinics, and events. The full golf season runs mid‑April to November 1. Clubhouse hours are 7 a.m.–6:30 p.m. weekdays and 6:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. weekends. The pro shop is open 7 a.m.–7 p.m.

About Your Compensation Compensation starts at $16.00 / hour and, with demonstrated experience, may increase to $18.00 / hour.

About Your Work Day

Landscaping tasks: mowing, raking, golf‑course cleanup/setup, gardening, seeding, sodding, tree care.

Operate walk mowers, triplex mowers, gas‑powered trimmers, and aerifiers safely.

Prepare bunkers using hand tools and mechanical rakes.

Perform manual labor: raking, digging, loading/unloading landscaping materials.

Conduct visual inspections of golf‑course features to ensure compliance with operating procedures.

Report safety incidents and equipment repair needs promptly to the supervisor.

Assist with equipment maintenance, including cleaning, inspections, and upkeep.

About the Referral Program Chautauqua Institution’s Referral Bonus Program offers a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) for active employees who refer a candidate who is hired and remains employed for at least 90 days from the first physical date of work. For seasonal positions lasting less than 6 months, the new candidate must remain employed for at least 30 days from the first physical date of work and until the closing date of the season (the last Sunday in August).

About Your Schedule Seasonal employment is offered during summer operations (June–August) with possible pre‑ and post‑season work. Schedules may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Typically you will work a six‑hour shift with a start time ranging from 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., totaling 30 hours per week and one weekend morning shift each week.

About Living on the Grounds No employer‑provided housing is available. Applicants should secure independent housing or reside within a commutable distance.
