Position Description

Reporting to the Marketing Manager and above, the Junior Graphic Designer/Store Assist is responsible for the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing, and creating graphics, including illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos. The role helps shape the visual aspects of websites, brochures, product packaging, posters, and other marketing materials.

In addition, this position will be required to provide in-store operational support on a weekly basis, assisting with day-to-day store activities as needed

Duties and Responsibilities

Design web pages, brochures, logos, signs, books, magazine covers, annual reports, advertisements, and other communication materials.

Create these materials by hand or by using technology, including computer software programs.

Meet with clients to gain an understanding of what they want their proposed communications to look like.

Create or incorporate illustrations, pictures, and designs to reflect the desired theme and tone of the communications.

Select type size and style to enhance the readability of text and image.

Produce drafts for review by clients and make revisions based on the feedback received.

Review final productions for errors and ensure that final prints reflect client specifications.

Perform work in store as required.

Assist in daily store operations, including prepping ingredients, making beverages, and maintaining cleanliness.

Expectation of Successful Candidate

Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is required

Proficient familiarity with design software and technologies, including Illustrator and Canva

Experience with Adobe Photoshop (Full Suite) preferred

A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics

A keen eye for aesthetics and details

Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin/Cantonese (written and verbal) is an asset

Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable method of transportation
