
Position Title: Lead Carpenter
The Lead Carpenter plays a vital role in executing high-quality carpentry work while supervising and coordinating the efforts of other carpenters and subcontractors on job sites. This position requires a hands-on approach, as the Lead Carpenter will be involved in various physical construction tasks, including boarding and installing hardware. Effective communication and a commitment to maintaining organized and clean job sites are essential. The ideal candidate will embody a team-oriented mindset and demonstrate patience when working with high-end residential clients. A willingness to travel for projects is necessary, as some job sites may be located two hours away or more.
Lead Carpenter Responsibilities
Perform hands‑on carpentry tasks, including installing doors, windows, and trim
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors on assigned tasks
Maintain cleanliness and organization at job sites
Document mileage and expenses as required
Provide and maintain own tools, requesting replacements as needed
Lead Carpenter Requirements
Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass the required driving safety course
Ability and willingness to work hands‑on when needed
Strong communication skills and cultural fit with core values
Commitment to clean, organized job sites and vehicles
Carpentry background
Broad residential construction knowledge across trades is preferred
Prior superintendent/site supervision experience on custom residential projects is preferred
Education is preferred
Tool ownership is preferred
