
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team in Jackson, Michigan. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals and a variety of business entities, including corporations and partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy and client confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, corporations, and partnerships
Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements
Analyze financial records and prepare or review financial statements as needed
Interpret and apply current tax laws to client situations accurately
Identify and advise clients on tax‑saving strategies and planning opportunities
Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and clarify financial information
Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation, regulations, and industry best practices
Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and financial data
Address tax‑related questions and provide professional guidance to clients
Qualifications
Prior experience preparing individual and business tax returns
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to analyze financial data and interpret tax implications
Strong communication and client service skills
High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with corporate and partnership tax returns
Familiarity with tax preparation software and accounting systems
Relevant certification (e.g., CPA, EA, or equivalent), or progress toward certification
Work Environment
Full-time, on-site position based in Jackson, MI
Office-based role with regular client interaction
