
Director of Accounting
Irving, TX – hybrid, 3 days onsite

One of Vaco’s multilocation healthcare clients is looking to add an Director of Accouting to the team. The company is growing rapidly via acquisition (2-4 transactions/month) and offers lots of opportunity for promotion. Due to the structure of the accounting department, they need folks with full cycle accounting with multi-location/entity environment highly preferred. Directors will lead the charge on month end and be the first line of defense on variance analysis, troubleshooting and process improvement.
Compensation: $160-170K + Bonus
Day-to-day
Lead and oversee the full-cycle accounting process, including month-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
Manage accounting for multi-location and multi-entity operations, including intercompany transactions, allocations, and eliminations
Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Partner with operations and FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis at the location and consolidated level
Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and other third parties
Identify and lead process improvement initiatives, including system enhancements and close optimization
Support ERP implementations, integrations, and system upgrades across locations
Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff, including performance reviews and workload planning
Support special projects such as M&A integrations, new location openings, and restructuring initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA required
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting
Prior experience managing or reviewing the work of accounting staff
Strong experience supporting multi-location or multi-entity organizations
Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
