The Community Employment Program Specialist/Business Relations Representative (BRR) works in partnership with Rehabilitation Counselors and Vocational Evaluators to determine suitable vocational options for individuals with disabilities and subsequently assist them in obtaining competitive employment within the community. Developing and maintaining employer relationships and promoting EIPD's services are vital parts of this position.
Job Duties:
-Assist in the placement of eligible consumers in compatible and competitive employment that is consistent with their interests and abilities.
-Work closely with counselors to determine appropriate vocational goals for consumers and identify the availability of similar positions.
-Teaching employment marketing classes to work-ready consumers.
-Presentations to businesses and community partners, meet with local and regional employers to better understand their business needs, explain agency mission and goals and to obtain their agreement and commitment to hire vocational rehabilitation (VR) consumers.
-Providing consistent written and verbal feedback to counselors regarding the progress of referred consumers' efforts to obtain employment.
-Participate in job fairs and other community events to promote and present the agency and its consumers as well as represent the work unit on boards/committees as designated by the Unit Manager.
