POSITION PURPOSE To assure SSAB maintains the proper relationship with customers and that product is shipped as ordered in the time frame acknowledged.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS List in outline form, using four to eight major headings, essential job duties and responsibilities. Put relevant descriptive data in subheadings. Order the four to eight major heading from most to least significant.
Sales Responsibilities-Assigned account responsibility
Build working relationships with customers
Field Sales Inquiries
Gather market information
Investigates & request approval for price discrepancies
Office presence
Regular and reliable attendance
SSAB
Interface with other department managers.
Maintain on-going dialogue with shipping, credit, purchasing, scheduling and quality departments.
Lead problem solving with other departments for customer advocacy
Administrative Responsibilities
Write & Submit weekly highlight reports
Maintain current customer profiles
Conduct all business within the scope of SSAB’s policies & procedures
QUALIFICATIONS Competencies and Experience Required List the Knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required to be successful in the position.
Command Strong Communication Skills—Oral and Written
Manage accounts through SSAB’s automated sales system
Ability to write proposals
Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships internally and externally
Possess strong organization skills
Manage administrative duties in an accurate and timely manner
Ability to multi-task with shifting priorities
Command strong product knowledge and capabilities of SSAB and their products
Demonstrate Proficient Computer Skills—Excel and Word
Understand and Exercise Compliance of SSAB’s Company Policies and Procedures
Be available for limited travel
Preferred · Thorough knowledge of SSAB products, practices and procedures Education Required
Possess a 4-year College Degree or similar years of experience
Preferred SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES / DIRECT REPORTS This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee will need to be able to alternate sitting and standing as needed
The position requires the following vision and hearing capabilities:
Talking person to person, on the phone, and/or in group settings
Hearing in person, on the phone, and/or in group settings
Vision at near and midrange
Additional essential functions are as follows:
Travel via automobile (good driving record required)
Travel via airplane (proper ID for air travel required)
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Position is full time, exempt
Travel up to 40% of time in the field, at customer’s sites, other SSAB locations
