We are strengthening our on‑site electrical support capabilities for a key continuous‑process plant, and we’re looking for a senior‑level Electrical Field Service Engineer ready to take ownership of motor and VFD reliability. In this resident rotational role, you will serve as the primary technical authority for ABB motors and drive systems, supporting commissioning, troubleshooting, outage planning, and day‑to‑day operational needs.

This is an opportunity to apply deep electrical expertise in a stable, predictable rotation — without the constant travel typical of field service. You’ll work with industry‑leading OEM platforms, partner closely with plant engineering teams, and play a critical role in maintaining safe, reliable operations.

Job Title Senior Resident Electrical Field Service Engineer (Motor & VFD’s) – Night Shift

Rotation 14 Days On / 14 Days Off

Location On assignment: Corpus Christi, TX (plant site)

Off rotation: Live anywhere in the U.S.

Housing and meals provided during on‑site rotation

Work Schedule & Rotation During on‑site rotation: Night shift. Monday–Saturday: 12‑hour shifts. Sunday: 8‑hour shift. No work required during off rotation unless agreed in advance.

Partner with the best We are seeking an experienced Electrical Field Service Engineer to support a critical industrial plant in Corpus Christi on a 2‑weeks‑on / 2‑weeks‑off rotational schedule. This role is focused on commissioning, troubleshooting, and supporting electric motors and VFD systems, with primary emphasis on ABB electrical motors.

This position is ideal for an electrical FSE who enjoys hands‑on technical work, values schedule predictability, and wants strong earning potential without continuous travel or permanent relocation.

Responsibilities

Supporting maintenance planning, pre‑Outage, Outage and post‑Outage planning activities with plant operators for ABB electric motors and VFDs

Assisting plant operator with regular reviews of maintenance activities associated with ABB motors at the plant.

Troubleshooting electrical, controls, and drive system issues in an operating plant environment

Interfacing with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams

Performing diagnostics using OEM software tools and field instrumentation

Interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM documentation

Documenting activities, findings, and corrective actions

Serving as the on‑site electrical technical expert during assigned rotations

Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives as needed

Providing assessment of Parts storage and maintenance and making necessary storage recommendations

Performing on‑site inspection/review of parts (new, used or refurbished) for completeness, damage and corrective action

Qualifications

Have experience with other major OEMs (e.g., Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley, Schneider, Danfoss)

OEM, EPC, or owner/operator plant experience

Have exposure to Siemens PLCs or industrial controls

Have prior resident or rotational field service experience

Have experience supporting continuous‑process industries (power, refining, chemical, LNG, manufacturing)

Have commission, start up, and support ABB and Siemens electric motors and VFDs

Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and drive system issues in an operating plant environment

Have to support planned outages, startups, and reliability events

Have to interface with plant operations, maintenance, and engineering teams

Have to perform diagnostics using OEM software tools and field instrumentation

Have to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM documentation

Have to document commissioning activities, findings, and corrective actions

Have to serve as the on‑site electrical technical expert during assigned rotations

Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives as needed

Compensation & Benefits Highly competitive hourly base pay, commensurate with experience, OEM expertise, and role scope.

Overtime paid at 1.5×, including overtime after 40 hours (Monday–Friday), overtime for extended Saturday hours, and all Sunday hours paid at overtime rate.

Rotational schedule providing extended time off each month.

Housing and meals fully covered during the 14‑day on‑site rotation in Corpus Christi.

Travel to and from the site provided.
