Position Summary Marketing and Program Assistant
This position is available to any
degree-seeking UNM student
who is enrolled at least part-time (6 credit hours) during Spring 2026, and has
36
college-level credit hours earned with a cumulative GPA of
3.0
or higher.
The Marketing and Program Assistant:
Develops and produces the Mentoring Institute's newsletter and other marketing and promotional materials
Coordinates webinars and online educational events
Manages internal and external communications for the Mentoring Institute, including reports, articles, newsletters, blogs, chat rooms, social media, and promotional material
Makes presentations and participates in public events on behalf of the Mentoring Institute
Plans, organizes, and facilitates specific academic, promotional, and fundraising events
Develops and maintains associated database records and files, including mailing lists and statistical information
Assists in the compilation and verification of research data
Creates annotated bibliographies and literature reviews
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties asassigned
Minimum Qualifications Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, and enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications Required qualifications for this position are:
Intermediate/Advanced
knowledge of Adobe Creative software (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
Strong communication skills both oral and written
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
Effective public speaking and media presentation skills
Ability to plan, coordinate, and effectively implement special events
Ability to work well in groups and independently
