Samson Rose has been exclusively engaged by a pioneering Robotics & AI company to find a Director of Robotics Product Safety. In this role, you will own the end-to-end product safety function for autonomous robotic systems. You will define the safety strategy, establish scalable processes, and act as the executive authority on product safety across the organization. This role combines deep technical expertise, systems safety leadership, and cross-functional influence.

They build field-proven embodied AI systems that allow robots to perceive, reason, and act directly on-device, without reliance on cloud compute or curated environments.
Their autonomy stack runs on embedded platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson and Orin, powering robots that operate continuously in harsh, real-world conditions.
With substantial funding, they support long-term research, optimization, and deployment at scale.
You would collaborate with a world-class team drawn from DeepMind, NASA JPL, Boston Dynamics, NVIDIA, Amazon, Tesla Autopilot, Cruise, Zoox, Toyota Research Institute, and SpaceX, with a decade-long history of successful field deployments and DARPA challenge wins.
The person we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Systems Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in robotics, autonomous systems, product safety, or functional safety
Proven experience leading system-level safety for complex electromechanical and software-driven products
Track record of influencing architecture and product decisions at a senior level
Deep understanding of real-world robotics deployment risks
