
West Work is seeking a full-time architectural designer with 3+ years of professional experience who is passionate about enhancing the built environment through sustainable design and adaptive reuse. This role offers the opportunity to develop projects from feasibility through construction. Candidates with abilities/interest in energy modeling and building science are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Contribute to projects from concept through construction
Produce design iterations through schematic design, design development, and construction documents
Lead and manage BIM modeling and drawing production
Coordinate and communicate with clients, consultants, and team members
Review shop drawings, submittals, and material samples
Perform construction administration tasks (RFIs, change orders, site visits)
Support quality control across all aspects of design
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in a professional architectural office
LEED Accreditation or Passive House Consultant Certification encouraged
Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Excel
Working knowledge of SketchUp and Bluebeam
Interest in building tectonics, sustainable technologies, and low-carbon materials
Familiarity with construction methods, building codes, and zoning regulations
Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
