Reports to: Vice President, Foundation
The Marketing & Communications Specialist supports the execution of CEP’s marketing, communications, and public relations efforts to promote programs, events, and initiatives while strengthening CEP’s brand and community presence. This role focuses on content development, digital communications, media support, and event marketing, working collaboratively with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to ensure consistent and effective messaging aligned with CEP’s mission and goals.
Essential Functions Marketing & Communications Support
Execute day-to-day marketing and communications activities across digital, print, and email platforms.
Draft, edit, proofread, and distribute marketing materials, newsletters, announcements, and email campaigns.
Media & Public Relations
Assist with media relations including drafting press releases, coordinating press coverage, and supporting press events.
Maintain media lists and support outreach to promote CEP programs, events, and key initiatives.
Create and update content for CEP websites, including OcalaCEP.com and TheHorseCapitol.com.
Produce marketing collateral such as flyers, brochures, signage, and digital assets.
Support basic video communications including b‑roll capture, editing, and publishing.
Social Media
Implement the social media plan by scheduling and publishing posts across platforms.
Monitor engagement and assist with tracking performance metrics.
Event & Program Support
Design and distribute event email campaigns and promotional materials.
Support presentations and visual assets for events, meetings, and partner showcases.
Coordinate with sponsors and speakers to collect presentations and media assets.
Brand & Administrative Support
Maintain CEP branding standards across all materials.
Order and manage business cards, stationery, nametags, and other branded materials.
Assist with inventory and organization of marketing assets.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.
Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube).
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Working knowledge of digital, social, and traditional marketing concepts.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
Experience & Education
1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
Experience with website updates, social media management, and content creation preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Expected Hours of Work
Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (40 hours/week). Some flexibility may be required for events.
Office environment with minimal physical risk.
May occasionally require lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds.
Generally quiet work environment adhering to OSHA standards.
Travel Local travel for meetings and events required; occasional out-of-area travel for conferences or training.
