Amazon MGM Studios seeks a Theatrical Sales and Operations Specialist for Australia/NZ who will provide essential operational support to the Sales Managers and theatrical distribution team. This role focuses on managing independent cinema bookings, coordinating film materials and promotional assets, arranging trade screenings and ensuring seamless technical delivery across the ANZ theatrical marketplace. The position serves as the operational backbone of the distribution team, handling day-to-day booking administration, KDM management and materials coordination with exhibitors and technical suppliers. This position reports to the Head of Australia/NZ Theatrical Distribution.
Key job responsibilities
Manage bookings and ongoing relationships with independent cinema accounts and smaller circuit exhibitors across Australia and New Zealand, including sub-run engagements, film societies, outdoor cinemas, and charity screenings
Coordinate with independent cinemas on screen availability, session time policy, weekly holdover requirements, and support Sales Managers with major circuit account administration
Manage end-to-end delivery of trailers, posters, and promotional materials to exhibitors across ANZ, coordinating with tech suppliers and Content Delivery Service providers
Generate, distribute, and track KDMs for all theatrical bookings while troubleshooting technical delivery issues with exhibitors and suppliers
Provide comprehensive support to Sales Managers in managing film classification and ratings processes across ANZ
Book and arrange trade screenings and industry previews, including venue bookings, technical requirements, catering, and invitation management
Assist with data entry and maintenance of the Sales and Booking system to support accurate box office reporting
Coordinate with Finance team on booking paperwork and payment tracking while responding to exhibitor inquiries
Support festival distribution activities including submission coordination, materials delivery, and screening logistics
Provide general administrative support to the National Sales Managers and distribution team at industry events and conventions
Basic Qualifications
2+ years of experience in theatrical distribution, cinema operations, booking coordination or administrative roles in the film industry
Understanding of theatrical booking processes and cinema operations
Familiarity with digital cinema technology, DCPs and KDM systems
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Experience with booking or sales database systems
Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships with exhibitors and suppliers
Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of the Australian/NZ independent cinema landscape
Understanding of film classification processes in Australia and New Zealand
Previous experience coordinating events or screenings
Exposure to box office reporting and analysis tools (Numero, Comscore)
Established relationships with independent exhibitors or technical suppliers in ANZ
