Position Summary
Craft Farms Golf Resort is seeking a motivated, career-driven Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our 36-hole semi-private facility on the Alabama Gulf Coast. This is a hands‑on leadership role offering significant growth opportunity within a high‑volume, year-round operation.
The selected candidate will work directly alongside the Superintendent in all aspects of daily maintenance and long‑term agronomic planning. This position is ideal for a turf professional who wants to lead from the front while preparing for a future Superintendent role.
Unique Career Opportunity Over the next two years, our facility will undergo a comprehensive greens renovation program on both courses, providing the Assistant Superintendent with valuable, real‑world experience in:
Greens reconstruction and renovation planning in 2027 and 2028
Grow‑in management and establishment practices
Irrigation adjustments during establishment phases
Fertility and plant health programming during grow‑in
Managing playability and member expectations during transition

Key Responsibilities
Lead and actively participate in daily maintenance operations
Supervise, train, and motivate crew members
Assist with fertility, plant protectant, and cultural programs
Calibrate and apply pesticides and fertilizers (licensed or ability to obtain)
Monitor turf health and communicate agronomic observations
Assist with irrigation scheduling, repairs, and water management
Support budgeting, inventory control, and record keeping
Assume Superintendent duties in their absence

Qualifications
Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred
Minimum 2 years of golf course maintenance experience
Alabama pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain within 90 days
