Civil Designer (3+ Years Experience)
We are seeking a Civil Designer with 3+ years of experience to join a growing, employee-owned civil engineering firm. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, and clients in a supportive, ownership-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare civil engineering plans for land development, municipal, and infrastructure projects
Develop site layouts, grading plans, utility designs, roadway alignments, and erosion control plans
Produce plan and profile drawings, details, and construction documents
Assist with preliminary and final design phases, including exhibits and conceptual layouts
Perform quantity take-offs and support cost estimates
Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure design accuracy and constructability
Revise plans based on internal reviews, client feedback, and permitting agency comments
Maintain CAD standards and follow established workflows and procedures
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in civil design for site development or infrastructure projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (required)
Working knowledge of grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design
Familiarity with local, state, and federal design standards and permitting processes
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, or a related field
Experience supporting municipal, commercial, or residential land development projects
Exposure to design-build or public-sector projects
