In this position... The Manufacturing Engineer - Industrial Designer candidate will be a part of this team and be responsible for technical ergonomic support for New Model Programs.

Qualifications You’ll have...

BSc Kinesiology, BSc Engineering and/or equivalent experience of 2+ years of experience applying Ergonomic Principles in a Manufacturing Environment

2+ years of experience automotive manufacturing experience

Extensive use of ergonomic analysis tools (Process Simulate)

Process Simulate/Jack/HandPak/NIOSH/Snook/Energy Expenditure/RULA

Even better, you may have...

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Ability to support launch programs on extended travel

Strong project management skills and result oriented mindset

Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.)

3D CAD review abilities (Teamcenter, VisMockup, FEDE, or equivalent)

Strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills

Ability to operate in stressful situations within timing constraints

Ability to work with minimal direct supervision

Working knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collecting, etc.)

Knowledge in the following Ford software systems: AVBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, E2KS, JIRA, CPARS

This position is a salary grade 6 and ranges from $72,480–121,440.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480–141,360.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $96,720–162,120.

What you’ll do...

Deliver ergonomic delivery quality operating system requirements for your specific future model program.

Collaborate with product development team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements.

Use virtual tools to evaluate the ergonomics of new model designs for high volume assembly operations.

Lead identification, resolution, and closure of FAE ergonomic issues.

Evaluate tooling, workstations and MPL delivery methods for ergonomic compliance and support tooling and racking buy‑offs @ vendor facilities.

Lead identification, resolution, and closure of all launch product and tooling ergonomic issues.

Identify “ergonomic lessons learned” from new model launches and implement prevent reoccurrence actions into future programs.

Support department safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, morale, environment, and innovation initiatives. Interface with cross‑functional activities (product development, supplier technical assistance, material planning & logistics, new model programs).

Evaluate product, process and workstation data for ergonomic compliance through the virtual and physical build milestones.

Support product development engineering in block & packaging reviews to provide engineers with technical information on ergonomic principles and assist in the integration of these principles in process and product design.

Support PD and VME manufacturing engineering in virtual builds identifying high risk operations that impact design, process, and workstation on new model programs.

Lead design specification and requirement development in FEDE with coordination of the appropriate PD groups.

Utilize the appropriate and approved ergonomic assessment tools to identify and ensure ergonomic compliance.

Complete virtual workstation readiness evaluations to evaluate allocations, safety, error proofing, ergonomics, tooling and equipment, and material flow requirements.
