Construction Superintendent

The Field Superintendent is responsible for overall on-site leadership, coordination of trades, safety enforcement, schedule management, and delivery of high-quality commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day field operations and manage multiple subcontractors
Read and interpret structural, civil, mechanical, and architectural drawings
Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules
Conduct safety meetings and enforce OSHA compliance
Maintain daily reports and jobsite documentation
Coordinate site logistics including staging, trailers, utilities, and access
Partner with Project Managers and General Superintendent to ensure schedule and budget alignment
Oversee punch lists, closeout documentation, Certificate of Occupancy, and ADA compliance
Maintain strong client and inspector relationships
Qualifications
5+ years of commercial construction experience
Proven leadership experience managing multiple trades
Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and sitework
Experience in rough and finish carpentry preferred
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Proficient with field-based technology and mobile reporting tools
Familiarity with Chicago metro and surrounding regional markets preferred
Willingness to travel regionally
Required Certifications
OSHA 10-Hour Certification
