HGA is seeking a
Junior Piping Designer/Drafter
to support operations in
Bay Minette, Alabama .
Key Responsibilities
Support P&ID walkdowns in the field alongside senior designers.
Assist with redlining and updating drawings based on field verifications.
Capture field notes and help translate information into updated digital drawing packages.
Provide drafting support using AutoCAD and basic 3D model tools.
Help prepare and organize systems turnover packages under senior supervision.
Coordinate with multiple crafts/trades and assist with tracking progress and follow-up actions.
Maintain accurate documentation and support general design office tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
2–3 years of experience as a Designer or Drafter in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment.
Basic understanding of P&IDs, mechanical/piping concepts, and industrial plant layouts.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with some supervision.
Experience using AutoCAD required.
Comfortable performing fieldwork, including industrial system walkdowns.
Ability to work a 6/10 schedule (six 10-hour days per week) for the duration of the project.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to 3D design/model review tools such as Navisworks or Plant 3D.
Experience supporting documentation, redlines, or drawing updates in an industrial setting.
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn from senior designers.
