Job Details Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial flooring projects, including tiling and stone.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and provide cost-effective solutions.
Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
Participate in preconstruction discussions and meetings to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for in the estimate.
Prepare and present cost reports and budget tracking to management.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
Evaluate and adjust estimates to account for varying production and installation times, project size, and technical complexity.
Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and competitor pricing to ensure estimates are current, competitive, and accurate.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial flooring estimation, specifically with tiling and stone.
Proven experience in preconstruction and in preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates.
Excellent knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills to accurately compute and manipulate numerical data.
Proficient in using estimating software and other relevant computer applications.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
Ability to read and understand technical specifications and blueprints.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
