
Responsibilities
Monitors team compliance with Firm policies, practice guidelines, and standards.
Manages and monitors all aspects of the annual property tax cycle for assigned real and personal property portfolios.
Develops client workplans and schedules for associated project deliverables.
Inspects properties, where required.
Obtains and reviews assessor worksheets and property records, where required.
Prepares independent target values for each property assigned using appropriate valuation methodology.
Prepares and conducts client presentations.
Reviews and reconciles client data and identifies tax issues to research.
Responds to client inquiries and requests from assessing agencies in a timely manner.
Serves as principal contact for client activity.
Manages personnel (assignments, position requests, etc.) while fostering a team environment that demonstrates support of firm management and decisions while building a positive culture of collaboration and mentoring staff.
Manages the preparation, review, and processing of all client reporting requirements.
Manages and assists in the preparation of abatement and exemption applications.
Manages all aspects of the appeal process (informal, formal, and litigation) and reports status and results to the client and firm management.
Manages deadlines and work needed to meet said deadlines.
Reviews and approves client tax bills for payment, where required.
Assists clients with accruals, budgets, and forecasts.
Assists with client billing and collections and company financial forecasting.
Communicates new issues, legislative changes, training opportunities, and client needs and strategies.
Maintains existing client relationships and broadens practice scope.
Pursues and maintains professional designations (i.e., CMI, Indiana Level III, CPA, etc.)
Participates actively in professional organizations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics or business administration.
5 years of experience in Real Estate Tax consulting
Indiana Level III certification required, CMI certification strongly preferred.
3 years of previous experience managing people
Willingness to learn new concepts/skills
Microsoft Office Suite
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Ability to work with a large volume of data to perform VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, experience with complex formulas preferred)
Familiar with Karbon project management software and Appeal Track a plus.
