
Madison Realty Capital (‘MRC’) is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Asset Management team in New York. This role offers hands‑on responsibility for managing a portfolio of construction and bridge loans, including oversight of loan compliance, construction progress, financial performance, borrower reporting, and investor communications, while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to monitor risk and drive investment performance.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of construction and bridge loans, with an emphasis on construction lending. Oversee construction loan draw processes, including coordination with Borrowers, third‑party consultants, and internal teams. Monitor the financial performance of operational assets, including budget‑to‑actual analysis and cash flow tracking. Track sales progress and lead partial release review processes for condominium sellout transactions. Monitor and track receipt of Borrower and Guarantor financial reporting, covenant deliverables, and other milestone‑based requirements. Manage cash management and routine escrow analysis processes in coordination with the Servicing team. Oversee real estate tax and insurance monitoring, including management of tasks outsourced to third‑party service providers. Maintain Yardi and other Asset Management systems with up‑to‑date information on loan compliance, asset performance, and construction progress. Provide regular deal‑level reporting and updates to leverage providers and ensure ongoing covenant compliance. Periodically re‑underwrite investments and rerun return analyses to compare performance against original underwriting and projections. Participate in regular Asset Management team meetings to review portfolio performance, identify trends, discuss open issues, and elevate matters to internal teams and/or senior management appropriately. Collaborate cross‑functionally with Originations, Finance, Servicing, and Development team through recurring firmwide meetings, including: Originations Meetings, Finance–Servicing–Asset Management Meetings and Portfolio Meetings. Prepare regular portfolio and asset‑level reporting for senior management, including commentary for weekly or bi‑weekly portfolio meetings and Asset Summary Reports (ASRs) for internal reviews and external presentations. Conduct periodic site visits to monitor construction progress and asset conditions. Qualifications & Experience
5‑8 years of related experience, preferably with real estate credit experience Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance or business‑related degree. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, MBA) are a plus. High level of proficiency with financial modeling and real estate valuation. Strong analytical and quantitative skills and advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Highly‑organized, motivated, and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline‑driven environment while maintaining strict attention to detail Able to work proactively, independently and as a strategic partner in a team environment Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written, and efficiently present ideas and recommendations.
