Job Description A distinguished general contractor in Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Project-Based Superintendent to oversee multiple upcoming retail projects in Rochester, MN. This role involves managing 3-4 active projects, ranging from retail remodels to ground‑up builds, within a fast‑paced construction environment. The position offers potential for long‑term engagement based on performance and future project opportunities.
Responsibilities
Serve as the on‑site superintendent and primary field leader for assigned projects.
Manage daily jobsite operations, subcontractors, and vendors efficiently.
Develop, maintain, and execute 4‑week lookahead schedules.
Utilize Procore for daily logs, RFIs, submittals, scheduling coordination, and punch lists.
Coordinate work in active retail and occupied environments ensuring minimal disruption.
Enforce jobsite safety standards and ensure OSHA compliance.
Ensure quality control and adherence to plans, specifications, and local codes.
Lead jobsite meetings and coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and ownership.
Drive punch list completion and oversee project closeout.
Essential Skills
Experience in construction management and commercial construction.
Proficient in construction supervision and general contracting.
Expertise in tenant improvement and remodeling projects.
OSHA 30 certification.
Proficiency in Procore.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with RFIs and retail project coordination.
Ability to manage projects in fast‑paced and occupied environments.
Work Environment The role involves working on multiple retail projects in various locations across the Midwest. It requires managing operations on active and occupied sites, necessitating adherence to safety standards and effective project coordination. The role demands flexibility and efficiency in handling fast‑paced construction environments.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Rochester, MN.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $72.00/hr.
