Overview Senior EHS Specialist
is responsible for assisting Paramount and affiliate locations with ensuring compliance with applicable local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. This role supports the EHS Department in promoting and supporting the development, implementation and management of Paramount\'s environmental, health & safety compliance programs and systems.
Responsibilities
Assists with implementation of a broad range of environmental health and safety programs (IIPP, Confined Space, Incident Reporting, Audits/Inspections, Fall Protection, Heat Illness, Respiratory Protection, Environmental Testing, etc.) to stay in compliance with associated regulations (OSHA, DOT, NFPA70E, etc.).
Provides support to Facilities Teams with regulatory permitting, monitoring and reporting in compliance with local and federal agencies.
Interprets governmental rules, regulations, ordinances and codes.
Arranges and conducts facility EHS trainings and maintains training records.
Responds to requests of EHS concerns on a day-to-day basis including requests for indoor air quality testing, water damage, asbestos and lead sampling, PPE, fall protection and ergonomics.
Provides guidance for hazardous waste storage and disposal including characterizing, labeling and packaging hazardous waste for shipment according to State, US EPA & DOT regulations.
Provides support with asbestos and lead sampling programs.
Conducts regular EHS inspections (stages, facility shop/mill spaces, office buildings, hazardous waste storage areas, satellite accumulation areas, machine guarding, etc.) to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations.
Initiates and conducts accident investigations and oversees corrective actions.
Provides Fall Protection guidance as needed for facility tasks and projects.
Implements and monitors overall Paramount EHS program and participates routinely in recognition and reward of employees.
Assists with reviews and updates of EHS forms and evaluates the performance of current programs, policies and procedures on an annual basis.
Develops, analyzes and implements Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) for processes, tasks and machine specific equipment.
Conducts Respiratory Fit testing and training as required by the regulation and when requested by employees.
Audits the SDS database to ensure accuracy and adjusts as necessary.
Participates in emergency response teams and security.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with Facilities, local Fire Department and Security Departments.
Participates in physical activities relating to environmental, health and safety including but not limited to, various climbing and lifting assignments.
Performs related special project assignments as requested by supervisor.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in an environmental, health and safety position
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Strong MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Broad knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations, and the ability to review, understand and interpret regulatory standards
Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety, environmental engineering or related discipline
Must be willing to travel
Additional Qualifications
Self starter possessing strong initiative and independent judgment in routine and emergency situations
Highly organized and able to carry out multiple assignments concurrently
Excellent oral and written skills and an ability to skillfully communicate ideas in a clear, concise, and professional manner
Ability to conduct formal training sessions
Strong planning and leadership skills
Ability to provide counsel and constructive feedback to facilities staff including but not limited to stopping work

Additional Information Hiring Salary Range: $90,000.00 - 110,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
