Position Summary

This position provides highly complex levels of purchasing, budget tracking, bookkeeping, auditing, accounting duties, clerical services, and administrative support for the Buildings and Grounds Superintendent and the institution maintenance department. This position will purchase materials and supplies, submit requests for bids, prepare maintenance related reports, maintain the computerized maintenance work order program, assist in and serve as a main contact for the Maintenance department and staff. This position operates Peoplesoft and WICS (Wisconsin Integrated Corrections System) in the preparation of a wide variety of reports as needed. This position will conduct internal audits and reconciliations of accounts and serve as a backup to other business office positions as needed. Salary Information

Starting salary for this position is $26.08 per hour plus excellent benefits. The pay schedule and range for this position is 02-13. Pay on appointment for current or former state employees may vary according to the applicable provisions of the State Compensation Plan, Statutes and Administrative Code. A 12- month probationary period is required. Benefits

Applicants will be assessed on relevant experience, including the following: Modern bookkeeping, purchasing and procurement policies and procedures, accounting & auditing practices and principles; working knowledge and usage of MS-Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), state accounting systems and the Internet; ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, officials and the public; and identify issues and follow through with problem solving techniques.
