Job Title: Operations Specialist – Mortgage Warehouse (Commercial Loan Servicing)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Operations Specialist to support our Specialty Servicing Group, with an initial focus on the Mortgage Warehouse line of business. This role sits within Commercial Loan Servicing (CLS) and supports a diverse portfolio including SBA, traditional commercial loan servicing, specialty finance, and GL reconciliation.
Following a recent integration, our team has expanded to include specialty lines such as Mortgage Warehouse and Builder Finance. This position requires a strong operational professional who can think critically, understand complex requests, and confidently engage with high-value internal and external stakeholders.
This is not a transactional processing role. We are seeking a deeper-level thinker who understands commercial lending operations, the line of business strategy, and client impact.
Key Responsibilities
Support operational activities within the Mortgage Warehouse line of business, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
Analyze and interpret complex servicing requests, identifying risks, gaps, and operational impacts.
Partner with line of business leaders and relationship managers to understand client needs and deliver effective operational solutions.
Provide oversight and support across specialty servicing functions including SBA and traditional commercial loan servicing.
Perform and review general ledger (GL) reconciliations and ensure financial integrity of servicing records.
Exercise sound judgment and critical thinking when evaluating non-routine transactions and exception scenarios.
Confidently escalate issues and push back when necessary to protect operational controls and client outcomes.
Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, risk management, and service quality.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Commercial Loan Operations or Loan Servicing within a banking environment.
Strong understanding of commercial lending products and servicing workflows.
Experience supporting Mortgage Warehouse, specialty finance, or similar complex lending verticals preferred.
Demonstrated ability to perform GL reconciliations and maintain financial accuracy.
Proven critical thinking and analytical skills — able to assess requests beyond surface-level execution.
Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge assumptions and provide constructive pushback.
Ability to operate with urgency in a high-touch, high-value client environment.
Self-starter capable of ramping quickly (60–90 day onboarding expectation).
