Overview Manage residential mortgage loan files from application to underwriting approval, closing and post‑closing, ensuring accuracy and compliance. A processor will act as the primary liaison between loan officers, borrowers, and underwriters to collect and clear conditions to close a loan.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare initial disclosure packages and disclose to meet federal guidelines
Documentation Collection & Verification: Review loan applications for accuracy and verify borrower employment, income, assets, and credit reports.
Loan File Management: Organize and submit completed loan packages to underwriting.
Liaison Duties: Communicate with borrowers, underwriters, attorneys, and title companies to move the file forward.
Conditions Clearance: Gather necessary documentation to satisfy underwriter conditions.
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all files adhere to bank, investor, and government guidelines (FHA, VA, Conventional).
Closing Coordination: Prepare all necessary documentation for closings to meet federal guidelines and coordinate to schedule closings.
Objectively handle, process, and secure sensitive information and communications
Performing additional duties as requested by Director of Residential Lending.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Experience: 1–3 years of mortgage loan processing experience is preferred
Technical Skills: Proficiency in loan processing software (Preferred: Encompass) and MS Office.
Strong understanding of mortgage guidelines, loan types (FHA, VA, Conventional), and RESPA regulations.
Exceptional attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work under tight deadlines
Proficient oral and written communication skills
Prior banking or credit related experience with a general understanding of banking fundamentals
Ability to meet strict deadlines, multi‑task, and work with other departments as well as external customers to achieve required results.
Preferred Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business related field.
