
Our hospitality and vacation ownership client is seeking a
Senior Indirect Sales & Use Tax Analyst
to support multi-state sales and use tax compliance and analysis across its lodging, rental, and ownership operations. This role is responsible for preparing tax returns, analyzing indirect tax considerations, and ensuring accurate reporting within a complex, multi-entity environment.
The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, hands-on indirect tax experience, and advanced Excel capabilities to efficiently manage and analyze large data sets.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns
Analyze taxability and indirect tax implications related to hospitality transactions (e.g., lodging revenue, ownership products, rental income, ancillary services)
Reconcile sales and use tax accounts to the general ledger
Extract, manipulate, and populate large data sets using advanced Excel for tax reporting
Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accurate data flow and reporting
Support tax audits by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries
Maintain compliance with evolving state and local indirect tax regulations
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
3–5 years of indirect sales and use tax experience
Experience preparing and filing multi-state sales and use tax returns
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess taxability and compliance requirementsExperience working in Oracle or similar ERP systems
Hospitality industry experience preferred (hotel or vacation ownership strongly desired)
