
Dining Services Associate

Full time and Part Time: 7am-7pm - must be able to work other shifts - Every other weekend.
Position: Dining Services Associate.
Job Summary Perform tasks for all phases of the dining experience to include providing a clean and attractive environment, resident seating, preparing and serving meals, and supporting the community's special events.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Must pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse (Learn more: https://info.flclearinghouse.com)
Provide service to residents by ensuring they are seated comfortably, providing them with beverage of their choice, taking their meal order and delivering their food in an appealing, appetizing and courteous manner.
Assist with serving food to a maximum standard of 32 residents per meal.
Help maintain a count of residents and guest meals served, to include communicating information to the Dining Services Director about residents missing meals and/or changing dietary patterns.
Perform cleaning tasks according to the cleaning schedule for the dining room to ensure a clean floor, table decorations are present, window treatments are in order, glass windows are clean, buffet and beverage stations are clean and neat.
Perform cleaning tasks in all dining areas to include: service areas of the kitchen, all equipment (microwave, coffee/beverage machines, toasters, soup tureens, etc.), reach-in refrigerators (all items covered, labeled, and dated).
Routinely visit residents at your assigned tables to ensure their meal and service is satisfactory.
Communicate resident's special meal requests to the Lead Cook or Dining Services Director.
Daily Operations
Participate in training on the process of setting & waiting on tables, cleaning procedures, safe food handling procedures, and compliance to dress code; follow procedures at all times.
Follow proper storage practices of china, silverware, serving utensils, etc. and notify the Dining Services Director of any inventory needs.
Customer Service/Hospitality
Assist new residents as they integrate into the community's dining environment, including seating assignments, menu choices, special diets, food/drink preferences.
Deliver room trays to resident's apartment in a correct and timely manner; collect tray from apartment after meal is done and return it to the kitchen.
Provide food preparation or wait-staff assistance for any special event held in the community as requested by supervisor.
Other Functions And Responsibilities
Other duties as assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.
Working Conditions
Assisted living community dining room and common areas primarily.
Commercial kitchen with full scope of equipment, cooking utensils, walk-in cooler/freezer, and dry storage area secondarily.
Educational, Physical, And Other Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum six months’ experience as waiter or waitress in fine dining, retirement, hospitality, or assisted living environment; strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent customer service skills.
Requires extensive use of arms, hands, fingers, legs and back.
Frequently reach, push, or pull with arms and hands.
Frequently stand or walk for 0-3 hours at one time throughout an 8-hour day.
Occasionally sit for 0-1 hour at one time throughout an 8-hour day.
Frequently stoop, bend, kneel, climb, talk, see, and hear.
Frequently be exposed to appropriate sanitizers and cleaning solutions.
Frequently lift and/or carry 0-10 lbs. up to 30 yards unassisted.
Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 15+ lbs. up to 30 yards unassisted.
May be required to support/assist a resident's full body weight.
