General Description / Purpose The Designer III, Mechanical is responsible for developing and maintaining design, detailed drawings, and related specifications of equipment under the direction of an engineer.
Essential Job Functions Functional & Technical Skills
Create conceptual layouts of machines, machine components, and systems to meet required specifications.
Prepare, check, and process engineering changes to incorporate updated design to new or existing machines.
Design and develop complex mechanical systems, equipment, and products for industrial machinery.
Design for manufacturability and validate designs through analysis with input from engineers.
Coordinate own design efforts to meet production schedules and provide project task estimates and updates to project team.
Operational Excellence
Maintain effective communication between departments and teams to support successful project releases.
Required Qualifications Education:
Associate Degree in Design/Drafting
Experience:
5+ years experience with CAD modeling, detail drafting, and PDM systems.
Licenses/Certifications:
Obtain and maintain railroad safety training and credentials
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of business software including MS Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge in Autodesk and ERP software
