The Director of Operations formulates and manages strategic initiatives, directs progress towards meeting goals and achieving benchmarks, ensures follow-through on the part of key persons, and sustains momentum needed to drive initiatives to completion. The Director of Operations ensures timely and effective implementation of the team's priorities, work program, and strategic initiatives. The Director of Operations coordinates identification and outreach to key donors in collaboration with Professor Sarah Johnson and the Office of Advancement.**Work Interactions**The position reports to Professor Sarah Johnson and works closely with the STIA program and relevant campus-wide partners.
The Director of Operations ensures effective stakeholder management by building and maintaining strong and cooperative relationships with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and donors, and building effective ties across the university and the science community, including developing K-12 partnerships with DC Public Schools and supporting the establishment of a public observatory for the nation’s Capital.**Requirements and Qualifications*** Master’s degree and at least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in project management and higher education administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience related**Preferred Qualifications*** Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong managerial ability and the ability to think strategically while balancing several complex agendas.* Ability to interact and work collaboratively across functions, levels and departments toward shared objectives.
Strong writing and presentation skills, budget management experience, and demonstrated ability to organize teams to achieve results.* Experience in a school of international affairs is highly desirable.* Preference will be given to candidates with experience at Georgetown University.**Work Mode Designation**This position has been designated as **Hybrid**.
