272242Las Vegas, Nevada**The SHOW comes alive at MGM Resorts International****THE JOB:**The Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Gardener position is primarily responsible for monitoring plant health and nutrition in the landscapes by biological and chemical applications adhering to federal, state, and local regulations to ensure that all horticulture areas are well maintained and visually appealing.
**THE STARTING RATE:** $21.70 hourly
**THE DAY-TO-DAY:*** Responsible for always maintaining the MGMRI standards of service to guests and coworkers.* Regularly inspect plants for signs of pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and other stressors. Develop and utilize appropriate IPM/ Plant Health Care plans. Adjust soil pH and provide necessary nutrients for optimal plant growth and health.* Identify common pests and diseases in plants; develop and implement IPM plans using a combination of cultural, mechanical, biological, and chemical control methods to manage pests effectively while minimizing environmental impact; prune plants as needed to remove dead or diseased tissue and improve airflow.* Maintain a record of plant health observations, pest sightings, and applications.* Clean and maintain outdoor spaces to include rock application, raking, blowing, washing, and similar activities.* Properly use a variety of manual hand tools such as rakes, hand saws, pruning shears, shovels, hoes, fertilizer spreaders, pesticide sprayers, sod knives, and hedge shears.* Operate specialized power and motorized equipment such as blowers, hedge trimmers, light tractors, lawnmowers, chainsaws, and rototillers.* Drive and operate company vehicles, trailers, and/or specialized carts to travel between properties and transport materials and equipment.* Clean and maintain gardening tools, equipment, and supply areas to ensure good working conditions.* Follow MGMRI policies and procedures for mobile devices to include work order creation, response, and completion.* Inspect the work area to identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor or management.**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:*** High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required* 2+ years of prior relevant experience as a spray technician is required* 2+ years of prior relevant experience in commercial maintenance or maintenance or resort setting required* Nevada Pesticide Applicator Certificate required* Driver's License/DMV printout required* Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required**THE PERKS & BENEFITS:*** Wellness incentive programs to help you stay healthy physically and mentally* Access to company hotel, food and beverage, retail, and entertainment discounts as well as discounts with company partners on things like travel, electronics, online shopping, and more* Free meals in our employee dining room* Free parking on and off shift* Health & Income Protection benefits (for eligible employees)* Professional and personal development through programs and networking opportunities as well as volunteer opportunities in the community**VIEW JOB DESCRIPTION:**Are you ready to **JOIN THE SHOW**At MGM Resorts, we exist to entertain the human race and provide an unforgettable escape.
