Mount Dora Christian Academy & Children’s Home (MDCA&CH) is seeking a
Marketing & Communications Assistant
who is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about our mission to educate, equip, and empower faith-driven world changers. This role helps share the MDCA&CH story across multiple platforms, using a professional, Christ-centered voice that honors our organization's heritage and mission.
Key Responsibilities Social Media & Digital Content
Assist with planning, creating, and scheduling posts for MDCA’s main social media platforms
Capture and edit photos and short-form videos to highlight campus life and events
Monitor engagement and respond to comments/messages in a way that reflects MDCA’s values and safeguards minors
Analyze audiences and trends to help tailor content and strengthen reach and engagement
Writing & Storytelling
Draft content for Imagine Magazine, the MDCA website, newsletters, and other publications as assigned by the senior director
Craft features that reflect MDCA’s mission and resonate with diverse audiences
Proofread and fact-check content to maintain accuracy and professionalismWork closely with the senior director, graphic designer, and event planner on campaigns and projects
Assist with photography, basic design tasks, and event-related communications as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field preferred
Excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills with meticulous attention to detail
Familiarity with major social media platforms and basic video/photo editing tools
Awareness of safe social media policies regarding minors
Ability to assess audiences and adjust messaging appropriately, with sensitivity to current political and economic climates
Strong organizational and time-management skills, able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced school environment
Respect for MDCA’s Christian mission, history, and culture
A collaborative spirit that fosters a positive team environment
Preferred Skills
Photography and/or basic graphic design experience (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva)
Prior internship, volunteer experience, or work in school, nonprofit, or ministry communications
This position is 12 months, Full Time, Non-Exempt.
