Construction Sales / Estimator – Commercial Floorcovering Division Location:

Santa Clara, CA Job Type:

Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Flooring Sales/Estimator to join our Santa Clara division. This role is responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, developing and maintaining customer relationships, and supporting the sales process from bid to contract award.

The ideal candidate has strong estimating skills, understands commercial construction practices, and is comfortable working directly with general contractors, facility managers, and project owners.

Estimating & Preconstruction Responsibilities

Review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents

Perform material takeoffs and labor estimates

Prepare accurate and competitive bids for commercial projects

Evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing

Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and value‑engineering opportunities

Track bid results and maintain estimating databases

Sales & Client Development Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, and property managers

Follow up on bids and proposals to secure awarded projects

Attend pre-bid meetings, job walks, and client meetings

Assist with contract negotiations and scope clarification

Identify new business opportunities and market trends

Project Coordination

Assist in project handoff from estimating to operations

Provide estimating support during project execution as needed

Maintain accurate records and documentation

Qualifications Required

3+ years of experience in commercial estimating and/or construction sales

Strong understanding of commercial construction drawings and specifications

Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously

Valid driver's license

Preferred

Knowledge of local commercial construction markets

Commercial floorcovering sales experience

Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar software
