Position Overview Alta Equipment Company is currently seeking a

Sales Representative

for

Compact Construction Equipment

to cover

Northeast Michigan (including Saginaw to Cheboygan counties)

as a sales territory. This role will report out of

Burton

location.

This role is responsible for securing profitable business for the company through proper planning, adequate territory coverage, and effective sales presentations. Accountable for sales of compact equipment that Alta Equipment Company carries. Other required duties as specified by their assigned Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

Secure orders, conduct surveys of assigned territory, study product potential; locate new prospects, determine prospect's needs, plan sales calls, make presentations, highlight benefits of the equipment, and emphasize the advantages of dealing with this company.

Help customers solve problems, provide technical assistance as needed, keep customers up to date on new developments.

Keep informed on new contracts and opportunities; settle complaints, maintain personal relations with customers, assist at exhibits, demonstrations, and meetings.

Stay familiar with new products and competitors’ products, inform the company of changes that can affect performance.

Maintain a system for keeping literature, brochures, price sheets, etc., neat and up to date; inform customers of catalog and price changes; study financing arrangements.

Maintain records of calls, make reports as required, work according to plan, follow up on all leads, bid openings and inquiries; control travel, telephone, and entertainment expenses.

Accurately present customers with quotations; verify all programs offered by manufacturers to present the best option to the customer.

Maintain required communications; advise superiors of all changes in the territory that can affect company success; cooperate with other company personnel.

Maintain a high degree of sales professionalism through study and attendance at meetings and association activities where improvement programs are offered.

Ensure equipment is correctly delivered and meets all conditions of the sale; take action to render prompt service in case of any deficiencies.

Routinely "tows and shows" equipment to customers.

Cooperate with employees of other departments.

Advises company of all changes within the given territory that have an impact on company success.

Accountable to the assigned Sales Manager for proper interpretation and fulfillment of all functions, specific and general responsibilities, and related authorities and relationships.

Coordinate activities and cooperate on matters of mutual concern with other department/functional managers.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager.

Method of Measurement

The attainment of sales revenue growth and profits.

The satisfaction expressed by customers concerning territory management and sales representative's assistance.

The satisfaction of management and other members of the company concerning performance.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Must be able to lift 90lbs, 50% of the time, in order to load/unload equipment.

Must be knowledgeable about the operation of a personal computer, business system, and Microsoft Office.

CDL-A / Chauffeur License preferred or the ability to meet the requirements to obtain.
