Position Summary We are seeking a
Director of Maintenance
to oversee the daily operations of the Maintenance Department. In this key leadership role, you’ll ensure that the facility, equipment, grounds, and physical plant remain in excellent condition and compliant with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. You will plan, coordinate, and direct both preventative and corrective maintenance activities to support a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, develop, and supervise the Maintenance Department and maintenance staff.
Plan and implement both preventative and emergency maintenance programs (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
Ensure compliance with all Life Safety Codes, building codes, fire safety, and regulatory standards.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility, grounds, systems, and equipment; identify issues and manage corrective action.
Schedule and coordinate maintenance work, assignments, and staff to support facility operations.
Maintain inventory control and requisition maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment as needed.
Prepare and monitor departmental budgets, records, reports, and maintenance logs.
Serve as on-call support for emergency maintenance issues as required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification a plus.
Minimum
3 years’ experience
in building maintenance, mechanical systems, or related field, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care facility.
Proven supervisory experience with ability to lead and mentor a maintenance team.
Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and preventive maintenance procedures.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license.
