
Director of Maintenance

Position Overview
Performs maintenance assignments as part of a work team involved in the planning, organizing, and developing maintenance projects.
Responsibilities
Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
Minimizes our exposure and risk on project.
Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Utilizes management and interpersonal skills for professional conduct.
Successfully manages a moderate to heavy workload of projects requiring technical and practical knowledge; utilize insight; good judgment; good interpersonal and management skills on projects of varying levels of difficulty.
Establishes standards on projects.
Coordinates project scope definitions.
Provides code compliance reviews, reports and recommendations for existing conditions and products in the company.
Assists in the preparation of materials for submission to all governmental agencies or governing boards.
Ensure safety and accuracy.
Performs other duties as assigned, such as some duties of maintenance supervision.
Requires the ability to use and apply extensive knowledge for a specific engineering field.
May supervise other project professionals or technicians.
Must be trained in SQF–Maintenance Program and Maintenance Equipment Schedule.
Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
Holds regular status meetings with the project team.
Keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization.
Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Conducts effective performance evaluations and mentors those with less experience through formal channels.
Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures.
Reviews the status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate.
Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.

Qualifications This role requires favorable results of a background screening, administered after the job offer is made, as a contingency for employment.
Education and/or Experience High School diploma or GED with experience in related field preferred in a high-volume manufacturing. Demonstrated experience and strong commitment to meeting internal customer requirements and continuous improvement objectives.
Language Ability to read and interpret documents and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from personnel inside the company.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited direction exists. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or other form.
Other Skills and Abilities Excellent communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, organize, and prioritize workload, excellent internal customer service skills.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. To perform assigned duties the following will occur: Standing on one's feet for long periods of time, walking, and lifting. The employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
