
HDD Account Manager

Kondex is expanding its presence in the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) market. The HDD Account Manager – East is a growth-focused, market-development role responsible for building regional revenue, expanding and optimizing distribution, and strengthening contractor adoption across assigned Eastern US territory. This individual owns regional performance and collaborates nationally to accelerate HDD channel expansion.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES Regional Growth & Channel Development
Own regional revenue and margin performance.
Recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing HDD distribution partners.
Identify coverage gaps and execute expansion strategy.
Drive distributor performance through structured growth plans, reviews, and accountability.
Recommend corrective action or rationalization of underperforming partners.
Contractor Engagement & Field Execution
Partner with distributors to strengthen contractor relationships and drive pull-through demand.
Conduct demonstrations, trials, and application support through periodic job site visits.
Position Kondex as a trusted performance partner in the field.
Capture field insights to support product improvement and growth initiatives.
Market Intelligence & Voice of Customer
Lead regional VOC and competitive intelligence efforts.
Translate contractor and distributor feedback into actionable insights for Sales, Engineering, and Product Strategy.
Monitor competitive activity, pricing dynamics, and emerging market trends.
Territory Planning & Sales Discipline
Develop and execute annual territory growth plans.
Maintain accurate CRM, forecasting, and pipeline visibility.
Conduct structured business reviews and track performance to targets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Sales, Product Strategy, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to ensure alignment and resolve field issues.
Share best practices with peer HDD Account Manager to support national consistency.
Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Minimum
3–7 years of sales or application experience in HDD, construction, or mechanical equipment markets.
Demonstrated success growing territory revenue or expanding distribution.
Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort in field environments.
Ability to travel up to 75% across assigned region.
CRM and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience building or scaling distributor networks.
Direct experience with HDD tooling or drilling operations.
