Personal Lines Account Executive Position Summary The Personal Lines Account Executive is responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of personal insurance accounts while delivering a high level of client satisfaction and retention. This role serves as a key liaison between the agency, carrier partners, and insured clients by providing consultative guidance, securing appropriate coverage solutions, and identifying opportunities for cross-selling and account rounding.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and service a personal lines book of business based on departmental workload and demand.
Serve as a primary relationship manager between the agency, clients, carrier partners, and agents.
Consult with and advise clients on coverage options, risk exposures, and insurance solutions.
Market, quote, rate, bind, and issue new business policies using independent judgment and discretion.
Assist in evaluating renewals and identifying opportunities for remarketing or alternative carrier placement when appropriate.
Support account rounding efforts through cross-selling and upselling additional products and services.
Negotiate with insurance carriers to obtain competitive coverage terms and pricing.
Maintain retention goals by delivering proactive service and timely communication.
Utilize agency management systems and departmental software to maintain accurate documentation and policy records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Active Michigan Property & Casualty license required, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
Willingness to obtain a Michigan Life & Health Insurance license within 1 year of employment is preferred
Strong understanding of personal lines insurance products and coverage options
Advanced coverage knowledge and risk evaluation expertise preferred
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing quoting, rating, and binding processes
Ability to cross-sell and expand existing client relationships
Proven ability to maintain expected retention levels through strong client service
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Working knowledge of Applied Epic and related agency software preferred (experience with other agency management systems will be considered)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High-level customer service skills with a consultative and professional approach
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Strong mathematical aptitude and comfort working with premium calculations and rating
High attention to detail with accuracy in documentation and processing
Ability to pass a criminal background check, as permitted by law
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
